‘Ack-Scent’ is that rare thing among camellias: one you'll smell before you see. Its clear pink, peony-form flowers carry a spicy sweetness that drifts on mild winter days, opening over a long stretch from midwinter into spring on a dense, upright shrub with deep green foliage.
Give it morning sun or bright dappled shade with protection from hot afternoon light, in the same acidic, well-drained soil azaleas love. Mulch well and water deeply the first two summers. Plant it near a walkway or porch where the fragrance can actually be enjoyed.
