About this plant
‘Forest Pansy’ redbud flowers magenta in earliest spring before the leaves appear, then unfurls deep burgundy-purple heart-shaped foliage — the real show here. The purple softens toward green in peak summer heat. Reaches 20–25 feet with a naturally graceful form.
Sun to part shade in well-drained soil; grow it as an understory tree or at the edge of a bed where it reads as a specimen.
