Butterfly Blue scabiosa carries lavender-blue pincushion flowers on wiry stems from spring until frost, one of the longest bloom runs of any perennial we sell. The plant itself stays a tidy foot or so tall, and the flowers stay busy with butterflies all season.

Plant it in full sun with good drainage; it dislikes wet feet, especially in winter. Deadhead regularly and it just keeps going. It is deer resistant and drought tolerant once settled, and it earns a spot at the front of a sunny border.
