Chaste Tree ‘Shoal Creek’

‘Shoal Creek’ chaste tree throws foot-long spikes of violet-blue all summer — one of the few true blues in the tree world — and the butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds never leave it alone.

It thrives on heat, sun, and lean, well-drained soil; cutting spent spikes brings another flush. Grow it as a large multi-trunk shrub or limb it up into a graceful small tree, 10–15 feet either way.
