The Chinese money plant grows round, coin-shaped leaves on slender stalks, each one held out flat like a little green saucer. It has a clean, modern look and a generous habit of producing pups, small offsets around the base that you can pot up and hand to friends.

Give it bright, indirect light near a north- or east-facing window, and rotate the pot every week or so, since it leans hard toward the light. Water when the top inch of soil dries; it would rather run slightly dry than sit wet.
