New Vintage Violet is a compact yarrow with flat clusters of violet-rose flowers on sturdy stems over ferny, aromatic green foliage. It blooms from early summer into fall, stays around 1 to 2 feet tall, and the flower heads hold their color instead of fading fast. Bees and butterflies work it steadily.

Give it full sun and well-drained soil on the lean side; rich, wet ground makes any yarrow flop. Cut spent heads back to fresh foliage for rebloom. It is drought tolerant once established, and deer and rabbits pass it by. Good in borders and cut arrangements.
