About this plant
Spreading plum yew answers the deer-and-shade question: soft, dark evergreen needles on low, arching branches, untouched by browsing and unbothered by dry shade.
Part to full shade in well-drained soil. Mass it at 2–3 feet under trees, along shaded foundations, and anywhere junipers would sulk and hostas would be eaten.
