Rabbit's foot fern is named for the fuzzy, silvery rhizomes that creep over the rim of the pot like small paws. Above them rise lacy, triangular fronds with a fine, airy texture. The mix of furry stems and delicate foliage makes it a conversation piece in a hanging basket.

Give it bright, indirect light and keep the soil lightly moist, letting the top inch dry between waterings. It appreciates humidity, so a kitchen or bathroom window works well, or mist it now and then. Leave the rhizomes on the surface rather than burying them.
