Encore® Azalea ‘Autumn Embers’

Encore Embers is a compact reblooming azalea with glowing orange-red, semi-double flowers. Like all Encores it blooms in spring, rests briefly, then flowers again through summer and fall, so you get color across three seasons on an evergreen shrub around 3 feet tall.

Encores take more sun than older azaleas; part sun to nearly full sun keeps the rebloom strong, though a break from the worst afternoon blast is kind in Birmingham. Plant it in acidic, well-drained soil, mulch the shallow roots, and prune only right after the spring flush.
