About this plant
‘Arkansas Black’ is famous for its near-black skin and hard tart flesh that mellows and sweetens in storage — a rare keeper that improves over months. Late ripening, it demands winter chill and grows into a substantial orchard tree.
Full sun in well-drained soil. This variety needs a pollination partner with overlapping bloom time to set fruit; plant another apple nearby for reliable crops.
