Miss Frances is a crape myrtle selected for true deep red flowers held over a long summer bloom season, on a tree with glossy green leaves and a rounded, spreading form that matures around 15 to 20 feet. As the trunks age they show handsome gray-orange bark.
Plant it in full sun in any well-drained soil; the more sun, the heavier the bloom. Established trees take Southern heat and dry spells easily. Give it room to develop its natural crown and limit pruning to thinning small interior branches in late winter.
