About this plant
‘Fire Chief’ arborvitae is a rounded globe 2–4 feet tall, grown for coral-orange new growth that deepens to rich red in cold weather — colour that holds all season in full sun.
Plant it in moist, well-drained soil, where it needs no shearing to hold its globe. Shade fades the colour to plain green.
