About this plant
‘Autumn Ruby’ was one of the first Encores and remains one of the most useful: true ruby-red single blooms in spring, summer, and fall on a low, spreading plant that fits under windows without pruning.
Encores take more sun than old azaleas — morning sun with some afternoon light deepens the rebloom. Acidic, well-drained soil and mulch complete the picture. Mass it at the front of foundation beds for three seasons of red.
