Lantana is a heat-loving annual that blooms relentlessly from spring through frost in clustered flowers that shift colour as they age, typically from yellow to orange or red to pink. Mounding to 18–24 inches, it attracts butterflies and tolerates poor soil with indifference.

Plant in full sun and well-draining soil; water moderately once established. Deadheading prolongs bloom, though it flowers without fussing. One of the few annuals that actually thrives when you ignore it.
