Autumn Angel is an Encore azalea, the series bred to bloom in spring and then again through summer and fall instead of giving one show a year. This one stays compact, around 3 feet, and covers itself in clean white single blooms that read well against brick and dark foundations.

Unlike older azaleas, Encores take real sun; morning sun with some afternoon relief suits them well here. Plant in acidic, well-drained soil, mulch the shallow roots, and water through the first summer. If you shape it at all, do so right after the spring flush.
