‘Daisy’ gardenia breaks from the tight, rosette doubles most of us picture, opening instead into single, open white blooms with a bright yellow center, and they still carry that heavy, sweet fragrance. Expect a shrub 3–4 feet tall and 4–5 feet wide, wider than it is tall.

Give it acidic, well-drained soil, morning sun with afternoon shade, and a layer of mulch. Keep the water steady while it is in bloom. Its broad habit suits a foundation corner or the middle of a mixed border.
