About this plant
Albo Marginata is a dependable old hosta with medium green leaves edged in a clean white margin, building into a mound about 18 inches tall and 3 to 4 feet across. Spikes of lavender flowers rise above the foliage in summer.
Grow it in shade or with morning sun only; in Birmingham, afternoon sun scorches white-edged hostas. It likes rich, moist, well-drained soil and steady water through summer, and it pairs naturally with ferns and heucheras. Cut the foliage down after frost, and divide crowded clumps in early spring if you want more plants.
