George Taber is a classic Southern Indica azalea with large, funnel-shaped blooms in soft pink washed with white and deeper flecks in the throat. It grows into a full, evergreen shrub of 6 to 8 feet, so one plant makes a real statement, and a row makes a spring event.

Plant it in acidic, well-drained soil with morning sun and afternoon shade here in Birmingham. Mulch to keep the shallow roots cool and evenly moist, and do any shaping right after the spring flush so you don't cut off next year's buds.
