Nasturtiums climb, trail, or mound depending on how you plant them—pick a sunny spot and watch them take off. Both flowers and leaves are edible, and the blooms attract pollinators in droves.

Available through fall and winter here, they thrive in lean soil and actually flower better when you don't coddle them. Water when dry and let them sprawl; they need very little else.
