Wide Brim is named for the broad, creamy-gold margin that wraps each blue-green leaf, widening as the plant matures. It forms a medium mound two feet tall and three to four feet across, with lavender flower spikes in summer.
Site it in part to full shade with dependable moisture; rich soil with compost keeps the leaves full-sized. It's an easy, vigorous grower that divides well, so one plant eventually edges a whole bed. Cut back after frost.
