About this plant
‘Celeste’ is the sugar fig of Southern dooryards: small, violet-skinned, honey-sweet fruit with a closed eye that keeps rain and insects out, ripening in July without any spraying.
Full sun and room — figs want 8–10 feet even pruned. Mulch deep, water in fruit set, and pick daily in season, because everything else in the yard wants them too.
