Belleza White is a compact gaura, sending up airy wands of white, butterfly-shaped flowers that hover and move with every breeze from summer into fall. At around 18 inches it keeps the wispy gaura charm without the flop of the tall old varieties.

Give it full sun and well-drained soil and it will bloom through the worst of our heat; drought barely registers once it is established. Shear it back lightly midseason if it slows, and it refreshes quickly. Deer pass it by; bees and butterflies do not.
