Hill Hardy is an evergreen rosemary with resinous, needle-like leaves you can snip for the kitchen all year, and it pushes small blue flowers that bees work eagerly in spring. It grows as an upright shrub, and the foliage stays green through winter in our zone 8a conditions.

Plant it in full sun with sharp drainage, since wet feet kill rosemary far more often than cold does; raise the bed or mix grit into our clay. Once established it handles dry spells well, so water deeply and let the soil dry between sessions.
