Mariachi Copper Sun is a blanket flower with daisy-form blooms in hot copper and gold over grey-green foliage, flowering from late spring right through the summer heat. Plants stay compact and tidy, and the bright flowers draw butterflies all season.

Give it full sun and lean, fast-draining soil, since rich ground makes it floppy and short-lived. Birmingham's clay is the problem to solve first, so amend planting spots with grit or sand before setting it in. Established plants shrug off a dry spell., and deer leave it alone, which makes it a reliable choice for the hot, dry edges of a border.
