This is the variegated form of the rubber tree, its broad, glossy leaves marbled in cream, sage, and green, often with a blush of pink on the newest growth. Each leaf patterns a little differently, so the plant reads painterly rather than uniform as it grows into a handsome upright specimen indoors.

Variegated rubber trees color up in bright, indirect light — a few feet from a sunny window is about right. Let the top couple inches of soil dry between waterings, keep it clear of cold drafts, and turn the pot occasionally so it grows evenly.
