Batflower cuphea spreads low and wide, covered all season in small burgundy blooms that look like tiny velvet bats in flight. Heat and humidity barely slow it down—it actually thrives in the thick of July and August.

Plant in full sun to part shade and average soil; water when dry. Excellent spilling over baskets or softening the front edge of beds where it won't get crowded out.
