Peridot is an ice plant from our Toe Ticklers line of tough, low creepers, with succulent, jelly-bean foliage and glossy yellow daisy flowers from spring into summer. It hugs the ground at just a few inches and shines in hot, dry spots.

Sun and drainage are everything for ice plants: a gravelly slope, a rock garden pocket, or the gaps between flagstones suit it far better than rich, damp beds. Once rooted in, it handles drought, salt, and reflected heat off pavement. Butterflies stop by.
