The ladyfinger cactus grows slender, finger-like stems densely wrapped in fine golden spines, so the plant looks soft and almost brushed, though it is still very much a cactus. Stems multiply into charming clusters that fill a pot, and spring can bring small cream-to-pink flowers on mature plants.

Give it a bright, sunny sill and a fast-draining cactus mix. Water only when the soil is fully dry, and cut back further through winter. It likes warmth and tolerates dry indoor air without complaint; just keep it away from frost.
