Laurentii is the classic snake plant, with stiff, upright sword leaves banded in dark and light green and edged in clear yellow. The strong vertical lines suit modern rooms and tight corners alike, and it tolerates neglect that would finish most houseplants.

It accepts anything from low light to bright, indirect light, though it grows faster with more. Water only when the soil has dried completely, and even less in winter; overwatering is the one mistake that matters. Keep it out of harsh direct sun.
