Gold variegated ivy is classic English ivy dressed up, each leaf edged or splashed in warm golden-yellow against green. Indoors it trails from hanging baskets and shelf pots, climbs a small trellis or topiary form, and mixes into planters where it softens the edges of bolder plants.

Bright, indirect light keeps the gold crisp; in dim spots the leaves shift back toward plain green. Let the soil dry slightly between waterings and rinse the foliage occasionally, which discourages spider mites and keeps it glossy. Outdoors, treat it as a container and porch plant rather than turning it loose in a bed.
