Gold Dust croton lives up to its name: leathery, deep green oval leaves flecked all over with bright yellow, as if dusted with paint. It grows into a full, upright houseplant, and the speckling intensifies with good light.

Indoors, give it bright, indirect light with some gentle sun; too little light and the gold fades. Water when the top inch of soil dries, and keep it away from cold drafts. It also makes a fine summer patio plant in bright shade, brought in before frost.
