Castello Compact Gold is a tickseed that forms a dense, tidy dome about a foot tall, smothered in golden, orange-warmed daisies from late spring through fall. The long season and self-supporting habit make it a dependable filler for borders and containers alike.

Full sun and drained soil are the whole recipe; established plants take drought and heat without fuss, and deer and rabbits usually pass. Shear the clump lightly when the first big flush fades and it resets for another round. Bees and butterflies work the flowers from morning on.
