Hurricane is a bird's nest fern whose glossy green fronds twist in one direction as they grow, so the whole rosette appears to swirl like its namesake storm. It grows from a central cup, making a sculptural, modern-looking houseplant.

Give it bright, indirect light and keep the soil lightly moist, watering around the edges of the pot rather than into the central rosette. It likes humidity and steady room temperatures. Wipe the fronds now and then to keep them glossy.
