Boxwood ‘Wintergreen’

Wintergreen is a fast-growing, dependably hardy boxwood, a Korean type that holds its green color through winter instead of bronzing. Left alone it builds into a rounded shrub around four feet; sheared, it makes a crisp hedge or foundation planting.

Plant it in full sun to part shade in soil that drains; boxwoods sulk in soggy spots. Morning sun with afternoon shade is a comfortable spot in Birmingham. Shear after the spring flush to keep whatever size and shape you're after.
