‘Teddy Bear’ is the most compact and huggable of the southern magnolias: dense, rounded, and dressed to the ground in glossy leaves with thick rusty backs, plus the classic fragrant white flowers in summer.
Full sun to light shade in well-drained soil. At roughly 16–20 feet with a narrow spread, it works in foundation-scale plantings, courtyards, and formal pairs where bigger magnolias overwhelm.
