Encore Fire is a dwarf reblooming azalea in a rich, true red, with velvety semi-double flowers in spring and repeat flushes through summer and fall. The glossy evergreen foliage deepens to purple-bronze over winter, so the shrub carries interest even between blooms. It stays around 2 to 3 feet.

Plant it in part sun to sun; Encores need more light than old-fashioned azaleas to rebloom well. Acidic, well-drained soil and a mulched root zone are the essentials, with steady water the first two summers. Prune only right after the spring flush so later flowers are not cut away.
