The Ruby rubber plant layers pink over the classic: broad, glossy oval leaves variegated in cream and green, flushed rose-red on the new growth as each leaf unrolls. It grows upright into a colorful small indoor tree that does the work of a flowering plant year-round.

Bright, indirect light keeps the pink and cream strong; in low light the leaves drift back toward plain green. Water when the top inch or two of soil dries, keep it away from cold drafts, and dust the wide leaves so they shine.
