Gumpo Pink is a dwarf Satsuki azalea that waits until mid to late spring to bloom, after the big azalea flush is finished. Rose-pink flowers with a deeper blotch cover a low, dense mound that stays under about two feet, a natural for edging beds or planting in drifts along a walk.
Like all azaleas it wants acidic, organic soil that drains freely, so work in soil conditioner at planting. Morning sun with afternoon shade suits it in Birmingham. Water regularly its first summer, then mulch well and mostly leave it alone.
