‘Green Gable’ blackgum is a native shade tree with a uniform pyramidal form, glossy dark foliage, and autumn color that ranks among the best — brilliant scarlet across the canopy. Reaches 40 feet or more.

Full sun; tolerates wet soils and is largely pest-free. Slow to establish but long-lived once settled. A tough choice for difficult ground where you want reliable fall color.
