About this plant
‘October Magic Ruby’ is a compact sasanqua with deep red, full-petalled flowers that read from across a garden, blooming steadily from October into December on a densely branched shrub reaching 4–5 feet.
It takes more sun than most camellias — mostly sunny to lightly shaded — in acidic, well-drained soil. Plant it where the red flowers can anchor a border, frame an entry, or provide winter colour against a backdrop of evergreens.
