Cat's Pajamas is a compact catmint, about 12 to 14 inches tall, with indigo-blue flower spikes that color from the base of the stem to the tip, so the whole plant reads blue rather than just the top. The aromatic gray-green foliage is part of the charm, and bees work it relentlessly.

Full sun and well-drained soil are the whole recipe; it laughs at drought, deer, and rabbits once established. When the first flush fades in midsummer, shear it back by half for a tidy mound and a strong rebloom into fall.
