‘Roseum Elegans’ is among the most dependable rhododendrons you can plant in the South, tough, vigorous, and long-lived, with lavender-pink trusses over a dense evergreen frame that reaches 6–8 feet tall and 5–6 feet wide.

Give it morning sun or high shade in acidic, organic soil, and plant it high so the root flare sits above grade, then mulch heavily to keep the roots cool through Birmingham summers. Use it as a backbone shrub at the edge of woodland or along a north-facing foundation.
