Ice N' Roses Red is a Lenten rose that blooms when little else does, opening deep red flowers from late winter into spring, and holding them facing outward where you can actually see them. The leathery, dark evergreen foliage looks respectable every month of the year.

Give it part shade to shade and well-drained soil; it's one of the few showy perennials happy in dry shade under trees once established. Deer leave it strictly alone. Trim tired old leaves in January so the blooms take the stage clean.
