Zinnia
About this plant
Heat and poor soil don't slow zinnias down—they thrive on neglect and deliver nonstop color from planting straight through October. Cut them for bouquets and they'll branch wider and fuller, rewarding you with more blooms the more you harvest.
Full sun, minimal water once they're settled, and zero disease problems make them an easy win for hot borders and gaps in beds. Deadheading extends the show, but even if you skip it, they'll keep going.
