Candytuft has been around forever, but this one keeps its flowers coming through heat that would stop most spring bloomers cold. Mounding, compact growth and continuous white clusters make it a tidy edger or rock garden filler that doesn't demand much once it settles.

Plant in lean, well-drained soil and direct light. It tolerates poor earth and heat well—water it in during dry spells, then mostly leave it alone.
