These poppies bring crinkled, tissue-paper petals in shades of pink to garden beds and cut-flower vases starting in late winter. Plant them in November and they'll germinate over the cold months, then flower as soon as warm days arrive.

Poppies want sun and lean soil—rich earth makes them flop—with good drainage to prevent rot. Once established, they're drought-tolerant and self-seed readily, so you may find volunteers returning next season.
