Bermuda Sod ‘Tifton 419’

The Tifton 419 Bermuda sod is one of the most common and reliable of the bermudagrasses. It does best when in full sun and receives at least 8 hours of sunlight. It is highly disease resistant and heat and drought tolerant. To protect itself it goes dormant when faced with cold weather and drought but quickly recovers back to its deep, dark green color when conditions improve.

Size: 24 inches x 16 inches; roughly 2.5 square feet

Watering: Needs at least 1 inch of water weekly if established. It is key to have good drainage to avoid standing water. If rainfall occurs and it is more than 1 inch, there is no need to water. If not established or recently spread, water everyday for the first 2-3 weeks then transition to a few times a week.
