About this plant
‘Purple Diamond’ loropetalum is the one to choose when the taller kinds would swallow the window and the dwarfs look too small: a 4–5 foot mound, as wide as it is tall, carrying deep purple foliage and pink fringe flowers through spring.
Give it full sun for the deepest leaf color and acidic, well-drained soil, and give it room away from the house. Set it at a corner, a foundation bed, or as a mid-border shrub.
