About this plant
‘Inaba Shidare’ is the laceleaf with scale: the most vigorous of the weeping reds, 6–10 feet tall and spreading 8–15 feet wide. Long, deeply divided purple-red leaflets hang in curtains from a strong cascading frame, then go scarlet before they drop.
Morning sun with afternoon shade, moist well-drained soil, and a spot out of hot afternoon wind. Give it room — this is the weeping maple for a lawn island or a bank to spill over, not a courtyard container.
