Prostrate rosemary is the trailing form of the kitchen herb: the same needled, piney-fragrant evergreen foliage, but on stems that hug the ground and spill over edges. It stays 1 to 2 feet tall while spreading wider, with light blue flowers appearing off and on through the year to feed the bees.

It asks for full sun and fast drainage above all; plant it high in a raised bed, on a slope, or at a wall's edge in our clay. Drought-tolerant once rooted, ignored by deer, and always ready for the grill.
